Hi Violet,

Are you using any window manager on your Linux (e.g Gnome). Is your Linux a 64-bit system? Do you try to launch CafeTran via the file named "Cafetran" (not via Cafetran.jar)?

Hi,
yes, im using Debian, 64 bit. I managed to install it through Snap (i think) and it does execute but to this: (refer to the image). All text characters are basically represented as 0. Funny stuff. Any ideas about that issue? :)

Probably, there are some missing dependencies on your Debian system. Try installing Java 17 as described https://computingforgeeks.com/install-oracle-java-openjdk-on-debian-linux/. CafeTran will not use this specifc Java but such installation may download all the Java-related dependencies.
