Hello,

I am unsuccessfully trying to work with the project (EN – RU) after glueing several ,docx files together.

After I close the project, it is not possible to open it again…

Error message: «An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x11) was found in the element content of the document.»

Any advise?

Cheers, Egils

No other advice than sending the project to Igor so that he can have a look at it.

Hans

PS Personally I've never seen that message with DOCX files ...
PPS Wild guess: the DOCX contains included Excel or other files?

You could check the file with the XLIFFchecker, http://www.maxprograms.com/products/
"Verify the compliance with the official standards from OASIS of your XLIFF (XML Localisation Interchange File Format) documents in any platform withXLIFFChecker.

XLIFFChecker is included in Swordfish III installers as free plugin. It is also available as a standalone product"

After downloading Swordfish, you can continue using the XLIFFchecker (and the TMXValidator) after the trial period of SF.

Cheers,

Hans

Hello Egils,

Please make sure that there are no other file types in the folder with the
docx documents to glue.

Not Igor, but nevertheless:

Can it be that one of the files actually isn't in DOCX format?

How about making groups of 5 files and trying to create a project of them? Repeat this step until you've found the group that contains an invalid file.

Thanks Hans,

Will do that later.

For now I am just translation these docs one by one <–– Each project consists for one document only.

Installation_Procedure_for_Blower_-_2.doc is not handled by CT. It is not
a .docx file. You should remove it from the folder before gluing.

Hi Egils,

By the way, are you on Windows? If so, are there any hidden files in the folder perchance?

This has happened to me too :).

Perhaps CafeTran should exclude these (old MS Office) files, as advised two years ago? ;)

Well, to be honest, I can understand that Igor cannot fulfil all of my silly wishes. 99 % is already a great score :P
