Hello CTers,

I recently added a document to a project that makes CT run incredibly slowly and become virtually unresponsive. I tried creating a new project with just that one document, but the same thing happens, as if the document itself were corrupted. Thankfully, I already have my translations of the other documents in the original project, because I basically can't open that project now. Has this ever happened to anyone else here? I can share files if that's useful in diagnosing the problem.

Thank You,
Anne

Hello Ann,

Please try to increase Java memory for CafeTran as described in this article: https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/6000160241

I had a similar problem not long ago, with a very large document that eventually slowed CT to a crawl. I tried increasing the Java allocation but it made no difference. In the end I had to break down the document into 4 parts, and translate each part, using the same TM each time so that I didn't lost the memory that was created by the previous parts.

Thank you both! I increased the Java memory and am back in the project. I'll definitely divide larger documents up for future projects as well.
