Opening CT .xlf in ApSIC Xbench

Has any of you tried to open a CT .xlf in ApSIC Xbench? Xbench lets me
add a CF .xlf to its project as XLIFF (as expected), source segments
appear to end in the right place, but I get the following string for
all segments in the target column:
*** Untranslated ***
When opening the same CT .xlf in memoQ, both source and target
segments end up in the correct columns. Should Igor get in touch with
the ApSIC guys? Or did I miss something (for instance failure to
finalize the .xlf in CT)?
How does DV deal with CT .xlf files?

Yes, I had overlooked the OK box. I'm still a bit confused as how it
works. If I tick the OK box for the 1st segment and then move to the
2nd segment, it's already ticked (same with all other segments).
However, if I select View > Checked segments or View > Unchecked
segments, it doesn't seem to reflect the status of the segments.
The checked/unchecked segment feature doesn't appear to be documented
in the Help. Is ticking the OK box the only way to mark a segment as
checked, or is there a keyboard shortcut? Is there a way to select all
segments in one go, and then mark all segments as checked?
A question to existing CT users: how do you use the checked/unchecked feature?

Talking about SDL, is it worth at all learning that thing? It came bundled with my Trados.

SDL refers to a company (the one that acquired Trados in 2005). I
believed Hans used it to refer to their latest standalone tool (SDL
Trados Studio), while you are using it to refer to the old standalone
tool, SDLX. Of course Studio builds quite a lot on SDLX, "Trados" was
added to the name mostly for marketing reasons (brand recognition).
After all, SDL paid more than 60 millions dollars for Trados...

yes, you are right, the program name is SDLX and was developed by SDL with no Trados yet in the 90s and I think Rene referred to SDLX, actually.

I didn't know SDLX existed already in the 90's, as I've only found
mentioned of it starting from around 2002. But SDL is/was primarily a
translation agency, not a software company, and maybe they were mostly
using it in-house (in the 90's), perhaps under another name, and only
started to market it to third-parties (agencies and translators) in
the 2000's. They did try very hard to push SDLX in 2002-2004,
especially against Trados. Then they came to the conclusion that if
you can't beat them, acquire them ;-)

Well, a PM I work for still prefers SDL to Trados (he used to work at SDL), and the files he sends me are *.itd.ttx files, SDL files converted to Trados files.

The main purpose of checking segments (the OK box) is to filter them
out in the subsequent review step. Once the OK box is selected the
current segment will be marked as "signed-off", and grayed in the
segments window after accepting it. You can also check/uncheck it by
clicking with the right mouse button at the source segment window.
I haven't considered checking all the segments in one go. Is Xbench QA
process the only reason to add this functionality? I wonder.
However, there is a semi-automatic way to set the "Checked" segment
flag. It involves the Segment Timer functions. I added this function
to make reading/reviewing translated segments without touching the
keyboard. Select the OK box and the Clock box in the source segment
toolbar. Then, each segment will be displayed in the segment edition
window with a set time interval and checked. If you want to stop
temporarily the Timer to correct something in the current segment,
just press the Escape button.
