  • "Underwater Caves" at Downtown Orlando Library
This month we will have a fascinating discussion at the Cafe Sci for kids at 6PM on Tuesday 13 August, at the downtown Orlando Public Library.

Underwater Caves

We hope the new school year brings lots of students to our new Science Cafes at the library.  Please help spread the word and invite students you know.

Amy Giannotti, from the Cambrian Foundation, will share her work exploring, mapping, and studying the underwater cave systems in Florida, Mexico, and Bermuda. The spirit of The Cambrian Foundation, an Orlando based 501(c3), recalls the ancient Cambrian Age, which occurred about 500 million years ago and lasted for about 80 million years, during which all life on earth was confined to water.

Amy is a marine ecologist, and is a former high-school science teacher and college instructor. Amy holds a B.S. in biology, and earned her M.S. in environmental science at the University of Virginia in 1999.
