Hi Everyone,
Thank you for coming out to last week's event, especially the emotionally charged Samizdat night, which featured many stories about the tragic times in Iran. If you missed it (or just want to hear it again) here's Shayan's story about how he
accidentally became a street protester in Tehran.
If you want to laugh your blues away, there is a free comedy open mic tonight. Come support comedians trying new stuff. Doors 19.00, comedy 20.00
Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will host another night, this time it will be Pearls on a String. It's a special night in which storytellers, musicians and impro actors meet for the first time and create some spontaneous magic for you. It's also free to visit, though donations are appreciated.
On
Thursday we have a special comedy event. We will host the
finale of the Tuna show(Tiny Underground Newcomer Award) All the comedians who won previous rounds battle it out in the Mezrab. Read more
here and get tickets.
Finally on
Sunday we have a special storytelling event which we think is important in these times. It dives into stories of
addiction and recovery, while not only letting people tell stories, but also speak with specialists on how to break cycles and find support. Have a look
on the page.
That's it for the week. Hope to see you at the events!
Sahand & Team
PS, if you already want to know what's happening next week, you can check out
www.mezrab.nl, but here's a sneak peak. On Tuesday we have a Myth night, On Thursday sadly we cancelled the concert of Majid Kazemi, he didn't feel he could play with what's happening in Iran. On Saturday we have our comedy night for which you are welcome to buy tickets.
