Hi everyone,

This Friday it's happening!

No, wait, first I'll tell you about the comedy open mic tonight. You probably know that once a week on a Monday we invite new comedians to experience the thrill of taking the stage or experienced comedians to try new material. It's a free night, which is honestly a win-win for everyone involved! Doors open at 19.00, comedy starts at 20.00

Ok, so then this Friday...

Hold on, I also need to tell you about a UNIQUE night tomorrow (Tuesday). You know that we do a variation of storytelling Tuesdays which experiment with the art form, right? This week we push the envelope by bringing a series of acts that some might not even consider storytelling: puppetry, movement and so much more. It's a night that will be hosted by Basak and for which we dusted off the old name: Welcome to the Playground. So, yalla, come on over. This night is also donation based?

Can I now finally talk about the Friday? Ok, here goes.

The new location we opened, which we aptly named The Other Mezrab, has its premiere night this Friday May 2. The first edition of which will be the storytelling jam format developed by Karl. In his night, Tell, then Show, he doesn't invite storytellers. He rather opens a conversation in which everyone finds the storyteller inside of them. Curious? You should be! Come to De Wittenstraat 27 and be among the first people to experience the new Mezrab!

And after this Friday here's a few more things for you to snatch up:

Saturday May 3 / The Original Mezrab  Comedy night! Come for a night of laughter! Tickets and info here.
Tuesday May 6 / Mythos, the night that dives into ancient myths, legends and folktales! Location, the Original Mezrab
Wednesday May 7 / Film Screening Manual for the Displaced. A dive into the poetic mind brilliant performance poet Robin Block and film maker Jeremy Flohr / Location: the Other Mezrab

Finally here's a special mention of a concert happening on Saturday May 10. We are welcoming the Kurdish Dance Band MIRKUT! Not only should you tell all your friends and come, you should also tell them about something new we are introducing. The night doesn't just have regular tickets and student tickets, it also has de-flation tickets, specially for those who can't afford full ticket prices! Have a look and a listen here.

So much to choose from, come and say hi!

hugs,
Sahand & Team

PS, with so much happening (2 locations!) you see how difficult it is to keep you updated about everything in a timely manner. We are looking at different ways to keep you updated. While we think of new ways, maybe you start following our insta accounts, if you haven't done so yet? There's @mezrab_ and @theothermezrab
