Hi everyone,

It is that time again, (and for some it never wasn't that time) when we are trying to live a normal life, enjoy stories, listen to music and laugh a little, while we fear for the safety of loved ones back home. In these moments there is the inevitable guilt, do we deserve a break, when others can't afford that luxury. But maybe it's because of these times that we have to keep meeting, sharing stories to remember each other's humanity, and laugh to keep away the demons. Which also means, if you simply want to share a thought or a feeling, you can reach out here and drop me a line. I will try to answer all of you (I am up at night looking for news anyway).

But now for the schedule of the wonderful things to come:

This Friday we have an open mic storytelling night in the Other Mezrab (de Wittenstraat 27)
On Saturday we do an Alt Comedy Night, the last one of the season! A night to finish up a series of absurd and ground breaking comedy dishes. Here's tickets.

Next week on Monday we have the Comedy Open Mic
Then coming Tuesday we will have the last Tuesday of the season, they will be gone until September. So come and join the Pearls on a String, the night that mixes storytelling, improv and music!
On Thursday June 26 we have the honor to bring back the Amsterdam Klezmer Band for their club night! Look at what they have planned and get your tickets.
We finish the week with an Armenian concert by the talented and angelic ladies of the Shushiki Band (if you joined their jam session last week you know how great they are!). Tix here

Finally I want to tell you that in a few weeks a dream of mine is coming true, which is to get two of the best performers I ever met in my life back to Amsterdam. I am talking about the crazy talented impro actors Jim Libby and Jacob Banigan. It doesn't matter if you are a fan of improv, have never seen the artform or are indifferent to it, come see two of the best on the Mezrab stage. They will have a show on Thursday July 10 and are so kind to teach us workshops (different ones) on Saturday 12 (Jim) and Sunday 13 (Jacob)

That's it for now. I hope you enjoy the events, and I hope the world will be a better place tomorrow.

hugs,
Sahand & Team

PS, here's a beautiful heartbreaking song from the Arab-Iranian singer Taha Omrani which I've been playing on repeat for the last few days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MmZV7CHoWo
