Hey you,

So happy the Tuesdays are back, and so happy I can kick it off tonight. I just need you to join me to listen to some ancient stories (myths and folktales) on Betrayal! What a theme, eh? Free night, so just come and enjoy.

After tonight consider:

Saturday Sept 5 when we kick off the new season of Comedy! Look here for the line up and grab your spots.

We are also bringing two of my favorite Syrian artists to the Mezrab. On Thursday Sept 18 the Oud virtuoso Talal Fayad brings his quartet to join the club night of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. The week after (Sept 25) he is numerically upstaged by the composer and clarinetist Ghaeth Almaghoot who will bring his quintet. Not to be missed!

Sept 27 we dive into some Greek virtuosic greatness played by the Skoutas Mitarakis and Zarias Rebetiko Trio. Click here for music links and tickets.

As you notice we have quite some amazing concerts. I'm proud to say that this season we are offering even more music than in the previous year. If you are interested in what we're offering, go to www.mezrab.nl and press on Full Program for a full list!

For storytelling there's one event in October I'd like to already point out. Mezrab is known for being a very contemporary place where we share a lot of personal stories. However, we wouldn't know anything about storytelling if it wasn't for the masters who effortlessly take us into the ancient world. One such master is the Canadian Dan Yashinksy. When I saw him, about 15 years ago, he left an impression I still carry with me today. I am very happy he will come back for a one night performance. You can already grab your tickets for this event! Join us on October 23 for a special one off!

Well, that's quite enough for today. Hope to see you soon!

PS, Amsterdam Fringe Festival is starting this week! Go to their site to check out various shows including in the Mezrab. (or Mezrab performers outside of the Mezrab). Also, already put in your planner that this year's Amsterdam Storytelling Festival takes place in Podium Mozaiek on November 6-9. A full programme will be announced soon!
