Hi everyone,
The math is simple. It's raining outside, the goods we offer are inside. So unless you are a tree, come inside and enjoy! And if you are a tree, how did you end up on this mail list?
Here's what's happening: Tonight we have our Samizdat night! The night in which the personal becomes the political (and vice versa)! Free storytelling for you.
On
Thursday we have the concert of the Greek Folk band
Gidiki. They are a crowd favorite and always sell out. If you want to snatch up the last tickets,
look here.
Saturday is the day we will go nuts on the music of the
Kinshasa born
Congolese artist
Basile Maneka (and band). Wow... just listen
here!
Finally on
Sunday we bring back the ladies of the
Armenian trio Shushiki. You've heard the incomplete ensemble play in Mezrab before, now they are together all three! They will be joined on stage by the Amsterdam formed
Lorik choir. This takes place in the
Other Mezrab (de Wittenstraat 27).
Tickets here.
That's this week covered. there's of course more great storytelling/music/comedy events coming. Just go to
mezrab.nl and press on "full program".

PS, did you know that we have a
three day storytelling course that focuses on
Fear? It looks at what the emotion does for an artist, and how you can look at it from a place of strength. Teacher is the incomparable Raphael (seriously, you want to learn from him). Dates are
May 29-31. On
www.mezrabstorytellingschool.nl you will see more info on this course, as well as all the other ones we are offering.
PPS, on the school site you will also read about the 6 month professional course. We are closing applications for this course. If you haven't sent in your application do it now, or forever hold your peace (or at least, the next time when we offer it)
