Happy new day, happy music everyday

Do you remember where you were when light and dark were in perfect equilibrium? The moment we herald the beginning of spring, when night and day are equally long. This year it happened at 15.45 on Friday March 29. I was sitting in a train that was passing Amstel station, next to two business men who were completely unaware of the significance in planetary position.

Then again, maybe I am projecting. Maybe one of them decided in that moment that when the working day is over he will buy some tulips and surprise his partner. And maybe they, in turn, will surprise him by putting on a folk song that gives words and melodies to the aching of a soul that is just coming out of the slumber of winter and is ready for the light of the new year. And if, perhaps that partner is on the Mezrab mail list they can return the kindness with this song we just recorded, and a ticket to a great music event!

Thursday April 9 / ADM meets Mezrab / Party night to support one of the last free spaces of Amsterdam! If you know the ADM you know that they can't disappear. If you don't know them, come and meet the folks of the place and the lovely artists who want to support them! Info and tickets.

There's a Comedy Open Mic TONIGHT! New comedians try to prove their worth, settled comedians try new material, you get to enjoy yourself. Win win all around! Free entrance. Laughter starts at 20.00

Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will host myself one of my favorite nights of the month: Pearls on a String. On this night storytellers, musicians and improv actors meet for the first time and create a delicious and slightly dangerous dish for you. The night is free! Come and enjoy! Doors open at 19.00, event starts at 20.00

On Thursday (March 26) we also have a storytelling/comedy night called A BLOODY GOOD NIGHT. We kindly invite you to this night as all proceeds for this night go to buying hygiene products for women displaced in the war in Lebanon. Read and get tickets here. It will be really lovely, and you can decide yourself how expensive you want your tickets to be!
