Hi Everyone,
We are all recovering from a massive and amazing weekend in the Mezrab. We had a sold out music night last Saturday which was a blast. Yesterday we organized our yearly twelve our storytelling marathon! That's over thirty storytellers in one place in one day! Every time we have such a weekend I have to pause for a moment to realize how much the performance scene has grown! Now, I am not writing you all this to brag about what you've missed. We have wonderful music and storytelling coming up still.
But first, COMEDY! The open mic is happening tonight! This is a free Monday night event to see comedians try new material and/or see the work of new voices finding their footing in this art form. Witness the birth of special things you beautiful spring flower! Doors open at 19.00, event starts at 20.00. Donation based.
You can also already buy tickets for our Saturday night Comedy extravaganza on Saturday April 6. These nights sell out, so grab the tickets while you can:
For MUSIC check out these great events:
For
STORYTELLING of course we have our Tuesdays. Tomorrow our Lebanese host
Raffi brings us
Samizdat (and I might tell a story), a night mixing personal stories with political ones! Of course there's something special every Tuesday, you can check out the nights on
www.mezrab.nl
What is also very special is a beautiful solo show we have booked on
Sunday April 7 by
Aryeh Hasfari. In the last edition of the Amsterdam Storytelling Festival this was easily the most impressive piece of storytelling/theater we saw, moving us to our core. Aryeh looks at the terrible attack and war on and after October 7, mixes his observations with his own family stories and brings us haunting music. Do yourself a favor, don't miss this, tell your friends and grab your ticket:

See? You might have missed a massive weekend, but let's be honest, we are generous with our favors!
Hope to catch you at the events!
