Hi everyone,
We just survived the Amsterdam Storytelling Festival. What a treat to see the talents come from abroad, and our local community shine! We can't wait to start planning next year's adventure, but in the meantime there's of course all the other events we will dive into:
Tonight we have another edition of Mezrab's Queer storytelling night. A special night we do once every few months. Free to visit, donations are welcome! Join!
Tomorrow we have the bonus show of the
Amsterdam Storytelling Festival: Inez Aponte's Un/Earthed - Of Mothers, Grandmothers and Freedom. The show had sold out at the festival, but she was so gracious to agree to play it again this Wednesday in the
Other Mezrab (de Wittenstraat 27). Read about the show
here, buy your tickets, and don't go to the wrong address for this one!
For Friday we have something special in the Other Mezrab, the first edition of our Storylab. We work with participants for one day on their stories and stage skills, and in the evening you will enjoy the fruits of this event. By coming you don't just get a free intimate storytelling event, your presence helps the new generation of tellers work on their skills and tell better stories. The location of this event is the Other Mezrab, de Wittenstraat 27.
On
Saturday we have another monthly night of
Alt Comedy, which is our gateway to the bizarre. If you only like plain comedy, this isn't the night for you. It's for genuine risk takers.
Read about it and buy tickets here.
Finally on
Sunday we do the
Balfolk/Social dance. This event is all about dancing the European folk dances together on live music. A real meeting of people with instructors who will teach you the steps you need to participate.
Look here.
Wow, what a week! See you at the events...
