Dear friends,

This weekend we were treated to storytelling shows on the highest level. Fernando and Basak absolutely knocked the ball out of the part with their shows in Bellevue and the Spirit of Amsterdam festival. Of course this is a testament to their talent and hard work. It also is the result of the various r nights we have, which you make possible. It starts with the storytelling courses and open mics we run, but there's two extra events we've added that really are a breeding ground for creativity:

On Sunday December 7 we have an edition of the New Harvest. This is a storytelling night unlike the other ones we have. Instead of having 6-8 tellers bringing a short story, we invited three artists to invest in a longer piece. They bring stories and can experiment with theatrical elements: light, movement, sound... All they need for the pieces to come to life is your attendance. The night charges a small symbolic fee, all of which goes to the artists. I will host this edition myself! Grab your tickets here.

On Friday December 12 we have the Storylab, another special night which helps develop talent. It's a regular storytelling night, but this time in the cosy Other Mezrab (De Wittenstraat 27). What makes it different is that the participants are students who have signed up to work the entire day on their material, under the guidance of master teacher Raphael to bring the most of the stories, as well as themselves. The night is free to attend, we want to you come and enjoy!

And now for the list of upcoming events:

- Tomorrow (Tuesday) the Mythos night. No personal stories, but we dive into the ancient myths and legends! Entrance is free, doors open at 19.00, stories start at 20.00
- This Thursday, Stories of Resilience. On these nights we combine (personal) stories with conversations with mental health professionals. In this edition we dive into stories of addiction and recovery. You are very welcome to join the conversation of the night. Simply by listening, or adding your voice, which can also be anonymous, and always without judgement. For more info and tickets click here.
- Saturday night we have another classic Mezrab Comedy night! Tix here
- Tuesday Dec 9 - Off the Page. The night in which we dive into the liminal space between storytelling and literature. Or we get storytellers to make fun of their favorite writers. Or anything in between! Free!
- On Thursday Dec 11 we invite you for an Anatolian Electro night with multi-instrumentalist Deniz Mahir Kartal! Jump into the page here and listen to the track, tell your friends and buy tickets!

Obviously there's more events, but I can't do all the heavy lifting. Go to our page, click on Full Program and be amazed.

PS, just a few days ago I held a copy of the Mezbook in my hands. What a treat to have a beautiful physical memento of our art which is so ephemeral. For people who don't have the book yet there's great news. Not only can you get it online on our page, or grab a copy at the Mezrab, you can also get a copy from this Wednesday onwards at the American Book Center!
