“Steelroots” Artist Steve Tobin Offers Exclusive Artist Class at the
Arboretum on Saturday, April 16
On Saturday, April 16, artists and art educators will have an
exclusive opportunity to spend a morning discussing the making of art
and sculpture with acclaimed Pennsylvania artist Steve Tobin, as part
of the opening events for the "Steelroots: Touching Earth & Sky"
exhibition at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
From 9 a.m. to noon, practicing artists will gain an insider's view of
Tobin’s studio and work process, and then join the artist on a unique
walking “master” class to view the sculptures and learn about process
and technique. This unique outdoor exhibition of 16 massive root forms
sculpted in steel officially opens April 16 and continues through
January 2012. The April 16 class is open only to artists and art
instructors and pre-registration is required by calling
952-443-1422.
