So a little voice told me, wake up and figure it out! I started researching on how to get better at meeting and connecting with people. Who are the networking ninjas and what do they do differently? I spoke to people, observed them, watched TEDTalks, I read books.

Because you will learn a billion terabytes about the other person that no small talk question can ever, ever reveal to you. Once you know something about the other person, you will feel more comfortable talking to that person. It lays the groundwork for the next step in the evolution of the conversation viz. common ground.

Ninja were all aboutusing social engineering, technology, and physical skill to collect and controlinformation. Given that information and data are now more powerful than everbefore, I actually think this is a highly relevant time for thoseskills. They have never been more important; it is only the technology that hasreally changed. The urban ninja would simply need to adapt these technicalskills.

An urban ninja in the21st century would probably have more in common with the charactersfrom Watch Dogs, rather than Ryu Hyabusa. But as in Feudal Japan, they woulduse covert operations to collect information and subtly sway the course ofevents in their favour, to further a cause, or to advance their personal power.

A hack might involve speakingwith someone on the phone pretending to be IT support and telling them that youneed their passwords. You might then use theiremail address in order to message the head boss and ask them to change thepassword on the web cams. You could then sneak into the vicinity to get theWiFi password, and use your computer to connect to their webcams. You mightthen survey the office until you are able to spy bank details, or where theystore their contact information.

Again, I am NOTadvocating this. But understanding it has huge benefit for protecting yourselfagainst precisely those kinds of attacks. And there is clearly an edge to begained by learning urban ninja skills.

In other areas of ourlives, being able to manipulate our surroundings and those around us, whileincreasing mobility and protecting information can certainly all help us tothrive in the 21st century. Being able to blend into a crowd andavoid standing out can help you to avoid trouble, and certainly whiletravelling. Parkour and buildering can be perfect for getting away quickly.Likewise, hacking and cyber security knowledge can help you to keep better careof your own data, to avoid scams and data theft.

Alternatively, throwloose change at the eyes and use the opportunity to escape. Rather than engagingin combat directly, you can alter the playing field and rob them of informationto give yourself a strategic upper hand.

For that, you must know how to tell if your website has been hacked. Are there any telltale signs to indicate if a website is hacked? Sure, there are.

Also known as Google Webmaster, the Google Search Console will notify you about your website being hacked through email. This will happen only if your WordPress site has been linked to the Google Search Console.

To insert backdoors and other malicious code in your WordPress installation, hackers often modify your Core WordPress files like wp-config.php and .htaccess. If you have observed that many of the core installation files have been recently modified, the chances are high that they have been corrupted by hackers. Apart from modified files, check for unknown PHP or ASPX files that may have been recently added to your installation folder.

Server logs are an efficient way to determine if your website has been hacked or not. Located in the cPanel of your WordPress hosting account, server logs contain access logs that display the users who have recently accessed your WordPress account and error logs that list modification errors such as denied connections and deprecated functions.

With WordPress sites, hacks are no longer the exception, they are the expectation. It is up to you to act quickly to detect when your site is hacked so you can clean it before malware has time to wreak too much damage.

While not named after it, the move's overall aesthetics may have drawn inspiration from Night Slash, a move Greninja can learn by leveling up in the games.
