hello there,

hopefully this is an easy question for someone to answer... When using CL in Reach mode, water and sediment inflow are entered using an input file such as input2.txt which was the example provided with the software. The wiki instructions say "The columns are (in order from l to r) Time, Qw input, Blank, Blank, Blank, and the following nine columns have the volumes in m3 of sediment for each of the nine separate grain size fractions."  However, in the example input2.txt file, the 5th column is not blank, it has values in it, which are not the sum of the sediment fractions (as in the output file).

Could you clarify what the data in this column represents? It would be useful to know for when I create input files for my project.

Thanks very much
Carolyn

Hi - 5th col is ignored by CL when it’s in an input file. When it’s an output file - it is the sum of the 9 cols that follow it.
