Its an NAS on a local LAN with several other PC's. But that software in it - firmware 4.2.27 - doesn't support connection to windows 10 after v1909. And since it is still working Ok with a windows 7 laptop, I'd like to get it connecting to the later versions of windows 10 too. HOWEVER . .

The RNDU2000 is a READYNAS thing. You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to

Nighthawk WiFi Routers. (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)

Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, but READYNAS is not a router so you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

ReadyNAS Network Storage: Official NETGEAR Community

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

A modern datacenter server aims to achieve high energy efficiency by co-running multiple applications. Some of such applications (e.g., web search) are latency sensitive. Therefore, they require low-latency I/O services to fast respond to requests from clients. However, we observe that simply replacing the storage devices of servers with Ultra-Low-Latency (ULL) SSDs does not notably reduce the latency of I/O services, especially when co-running multiple applications. In this paper, we propose FlashShare to assist ULL SSDs to satisfy different levels of I/O service latency requirements for different co-running applications. Specifically, FlashShare is a holistic cross-stack approach, which can significantly reduce I/O interferences among co-running applications at a server without any change in applications. At the kernel-level, we extend the data structures of the storage stack to pass attributes of (co-running) applications through all the layers of the underlying storage stack spanning from the OS kernel to the SSD firmware. For given attributes, the block layer and NVMe driver of FlashShare differently manage the I/O scheduler and interrupt handler of NVMe. We also enhance the NVMe controller and cache layer at the SSD firmware-level, by dynamically partitioning DRAM in the ULL SSD and adjusting its caching strategies to meet diverse user requirements. The evaluation results demonstrate that FlashShare can shorten the average and 99th-percentile turnaround response times of co-running applications by 22% and 31%, respectively.

I need to update the firmware of a Thinkpad Ultra Docking Station to V3.3.1, which has been released last year. I got no laptop running Windows 7/8/10 and Lenovo does not provide this update via LVFS, but only as an .exe file.

Please be aware that at least with Win10_20H2_English_x64.iso this procedure won't quite work any longer as Microsoft now switches to their so-called S mode when booting a previously VirtualBox provisioned image. Unfortunately, in S mode one can neither install the required graphics drivers nor launch the docking station update!

If you can stand to format the existing drive or have a spare HDD Just install windows 10 preform the upgrade, then switch back to your Linux installation. You do not need a key to install a trial copy of windows 10. Just select "I don't have a key" while installing.

If Lenovo doesn't provide the firmware in a bootable ISO or other system-neutral format (and shame on them), then your best bet in terms of a) foolproof and b) not wasting your valuable time, is probably to install a copy of windows on an external drive (or restore the system to an external drive if you still have the factory restore files). Boot from that drive, make sure you've got all the drivers needed so the firmware can see the dock, then run the firmware update within Windows. You can skip typing in the activation key and still have a usable system that will let you get the firmware patched.

Use Windows 7 or 8 if your laptop supports it, lately 10 requires the creation of a Microsoft account, and lots of personal information like your phone number (!) before it will let you get past setup to the desktop.

The firmware of the tinySA can be updated by the user. If your device is functioning well there is no need to upgrade the firmware. A new firmware can add new functionality or even improve performance but if your tinySA is performing well there is no need to upgrade.

Updating the firmware is a safe as it is impossible to brick the tinySA. If an upgrade failed you may have to open the tinySA basic case and connect two points on the PCB (BOOT0 and VDD) to be able to try to upgrade again. For the tinySA ultra just press the jog button and power cycle to try again.

Once the FW is upgraded reset the tinySA by switching off and on. The normal scanning screen should appear and the tinySA (if still connected) should appear as a serial over USB device in the Windows device manager or as a /dev/tty device under Linux

The next generation of game capture is here. The Live Gamer ULTRA (LGU) brings 4K capture to the table while its pass-through allows gamers to fully experience what 4K HDR is all about. Not limited to 4K HDR, this compact device can pass-through high refresh rates of up to 240 Hz on a Full HD signal.

The Live Gamer ULTRA (LGU) now supports VRR for both video capturing (using RECentral 4 software) and pass-through via a firmware update for Windows users. Download the firmware to enjoy tear-free and stutter-free gameplays!

With its high frame rate capture ability of up to 120 fps for Full HD signals, the LGU positions itself as the first external game capture device in the market to bring super smooth recordings to your archives.

Same problem - I've been trying to resolve this with Promise support for more than a year, with no result. I'm close to removing Promise from our list of preferred suppliers for our new data centre build.

But some investigation has revealed that if the Pegasus has old firmware, like 5.04.0000.17 (FCS release), the Pegasus 2 won't mount on either an Intel or M1 MAC running Monterey. This firmware is from 2013. But when I attached my Pegasus 2 to Catalina it mounted fine. So my testing had obviously been done with the latest firmware.

If the latest Pegasus 2 firmware is loaded (5.04.0000.64) the Pegasus2 will mount on both the M1 (with both the kext and user space driver) and the Intel Monterey. It can be slow to mount, I did not time it, but it might take a minute, then it works fine and can be managed with the latest Pegasus32 Utility.

The Pegasus 2 firmware was updated in 2020, the latest firmware should be used. But there is an issue with the latest Pegasus32 Promise Utility and it will not update Pegasus2 firmware. But a slightly older Pegasus Utility will work.

Another problem is the Firmware update. My mac (Sonoma 14.5) will not open the the file as it's extension is .img and not .dmg. Do you have a different file that I can download?

I must say that the search in your site is problematic. It will not search 2 words or three even if I write them with quotas before and after and this gives to many results both on main site and forums.

RightLight 3 and high dynamic range (HDR) technology automatically adjust to help you look professional in any lighting environment, including low light, direct sunlight or high contrast lighting conditions.

Brio is a remarkable piece of technology that streams crystal-clear video with superb resolution, frame rate, color and detail, including autofocus and 5x HD zoom.
