Fellow voters,
I’m kicking off November 2024 election posts with a race near to my heart: the Berkeley School Board. We’re supporting our neighbor, colleague, and friend Jen Corn -- and we’re hosting a house party for her! Here’s our invitation:

Hello friends and neighbors:

Please join Kim and Jeff at Berkeley Cohousing on Sunday, September 29, 2-3:30 pm to meet Jen Corn, who is running for Berkeley School Board in November 2024.

Jen is a lifelong educator with deep connections to Berkeley public schools. She spent thirteen years working in BUSD as a Teacher (at Sylvia Mendez and Rosa Parks) and Principal (at Oxford and Thousand Oaks). Her two children attended Malcolm X, Willard, Longfellow, and Berkeley High, and her wife Sarah Cline is the co-director of the renowned Berkeley High Jazz Program. Jen now works in Oakland Unified as the Director of School Improvement. She is a bilingual educator, fluent in Spanish, and she has a fierce commitment to ensuring all students are both challenged and supported in our public schools.

We’ve known Jen for many years and are so excited to have the chance to support her candidacy for School Board. She is an amazing listener, able to consider many sides of an issue and make hard decisions. She is both very smart and deeply compassionate. The wisdom and experience she has gained over many years and roles in education are exactly what is needed on the Berkeley School Board.  If you don’t know Jen, come meet her and find out for yourself what we are so excited about!

When: Sunday, September 29, 2024, 2:00-3:30 pm

Where: 2220 Sacramento Street Unit G, Berkeley CA 94702

RSVP: https://www.jencorn.org/house_party_hosted_by_kim_and-jeff

Donate here - maximum is $60!

Jen is participating in Berkeley’s Public Financing Program to reduce the influence of money in politics, so donations will be limited to $60 or less, and donors in Berkeley have their contributions matched 6-to-1 by the City.

Hope to see you soon,

Kim Seashore and Jeff Hobson
