selective extrude of dxf

Hi all, 

This is the very first thing I am trying with cad query. 

So I have a dxf file(as in the picture) and I need to select and extrude different parts(closed shapes) of it for example the ones marked in pink.

Can anyone give an advice?

You could try to use BoxSelector and convert the edges to a wire(s) before extruding.
