I just upgraded my Mac to Big Sur (probably the most ridiculous name for a release yet) and I am unable to install CQ-editor using the instructions in the documentation. CadQuery itself installs fine, but conda goes into spasms trying to "solve" the installation requirements and finally spews pages and pages of package conflicts.

I have no idea about conda unfortunately, but I think that pyopenssl is asking for python >= 3.9, whereas installed is 3.8.

Any ideas about how to fix this?

I think there is an temporary issue with master during the transition to OCCT 7.5. Try the following to pin the install to the stable releases.

conda install -c cadquery -c conda-forge cq-editor=0.2 cadquery=2.1

Also, CQ-editor likely won't launch in Big Sur unless you set the following environment variable.

export QT_MAC_WANTS_LAYER=1

The launcher shell script in the release package does this for you.
