Itis difficult to find stuff in Classical Arabic online. There is religious stuff, yes, but if you are more into TV series la Netflix, it sounds like wishful thinking. But there is some stuff that is quite good and very informative.

The historical series tells one of the stories of Islamic conquests that Arabs are most proud of, and the lessons it offers in courage, sacrifice, faith, and sincerity. Also, it is more or less in classical Arabic and the YouTube subtitles are really not bad!

The Imam series (مسلسل الإمام) or Ahmed bin Hanbal series (مسلسل أحمد بن حنبل) is a huge historical TV series. It was produced by Qatar Media Foundation in 2017. There are 31 episodes 50 minutes.

But there is good news. The Reddit user C-Y-R-O did the English translation of ALL 31 episodes and should get a big shout out for such an amazing work! The translation is really helpful and quite accurate. Here is how you can add the subtitles:

Ahmad ibn Hanbal's family was originally from Basra, Iraq, and belonged to the Arab Banu Shayban tribe. His father was an officer in the Abbasid army in Khurasan and later settled with his family in Baghdad, where Ahmad was born. Ibn Hanbal had two wives and several children. He studied extensively in Baghdad and later founded his ideas about Islamic Jurisprudence.

There are many anecdotes about his funeral. Some relate that his funeral was attended by 800,000 men and 60,000 women and that 20,000 Christians and Jews converted to Islam on that day.

Umar (Omar) was the second Caliph of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the so-called al-Rashidun (الرَّاشِدُون). He was the first to introduce the Hijri calendar and the first who awarded prizes for memorizing the Qur'an.

He defeated the Sasanians, the rulers over Persia. This victory made it possible to conquest Persia in fewer than two years. The Sasanian imperial dynasty was the last Persian Empire before the rise of Islam, ruled by and named after the Sasanian dynasty which lasted from 224 to 651.

The Sasanian Empire was a leading world power along with its rival, the Roman-Byzantine Empire, for more than 400 years. At its peak, the Empire stretched from Egypt, Yemen, the Caucasus, all the way to Central Asia (today's Afghanistan). Most people in Persia believed in Zoroastrianism.

There is a lot of contradictory information about the religion of the murderer. The Persian historian al-Tabarī (ّالطَّبَرِي) described Nahavandi as a Christian, while others claim that he was an infidel especially because Nahavandi had been referred to with the epithet al-Majūsī (الْمَجُوسِيّ), indicating Zoroastrian beliefs. The Arabic word Majūs (مَجُوسِ) means Zoroastrianism (Mazdaism).

What did the Caliph mean by name? The Caliph meant the name of the family, the name of the clan or tribe. In Arabic culture, until today, the name of the family or clan bears a lot of information about the person: his wealth, power, courage, hospitality, etc.

Farouk Omar tv series is based on one of the best companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAV) and the 2nd Caliph of the Islamic state, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab. Farouk Omar is a historical Arab series. Open CC to see the subtitles.

Farouk Omar is a historical Arab series co-produced (2012) by MBC1 and Qatar TV and directed by Hatem Ali, which is based on one of the best companions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the 2nd Caliph of the Islamic state, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) .

However, now after his embracing Islam how life has changed for him with no one to stand between him and his Lord. The series then takes you on a historical ride as memories come gushing back to Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) about the various events that happened during his lifetime.

Unfortunately I'm not a native Arabic speaker, so no point watching it since I can't understand anything, but is it any good? From the few clips that I saw it seems they are covering the story from the Prophet's time onward (freeing of Bilal by Abu Bakr etc.).

Salafis tend to generally be against it because it shows the faces of Sahaba and some of the actors are not exactly known for their piety. Plus the problem with a number of these series is that they're not completely historically accurate so some people see something on the show and they think that's what actually happened even though that may have just been something that the director or a writer made up to be epic or to kill some time, etc.

While i am of the view that it is extremely important to use media like movies to spread Islam, i would prefer it if they didn't show the faces of especially 'Ali (as) and the Prophet (pbuh) and there should be scholars who are consulted for every detail in the movie, because in a way, these movies/series are like hadiths; you're telling people what happened, and since this involves religion and actual events, we should be accurate.

I might have picked up on something incorrect, but why was Umar by The Prophet (SAW) when he made Hajra into Medina? From what I recall within Hadiths & History, Umar wanted to kill The Prophet (SAW) while he was ALREADY in Medina. Sounds like they just exalted Umar a bunch.

I hope the people who object to the faces of the actors playing the Prophet (pbuh) and Imam `Ali (a) being shown also object to the faces of Maryam عليها السلام, Nabi `Isa, Nabi Sulayman, and Nabi Yusuf عليهم السلام, among others being shown in popular films and TV series.

If you are mentioning them being depicted in film, then In all fairness, Zaynab bint 'Ali was a Muslim woman who would have her face veiled so they wouldn't be able to show it anyway. The Prophets (as) would probably not have their faces veiled.

The other women at Karbala were Muslim women with veiled faces as well, yet they were not portrayed in the same way (their faces or at least eyes were shown). Additionally, according to many reports, their face veils were ripped off in the aftermath of the battle, and they were not wearing them on the way to Shaam.

I was online looking at one actor portrayed in this film and found this thread. First, let me start out by saying that my name is actually 'Ali. The two closest relatives to me are hasan and hussayn. In fact we are blood relatives and have the family tree that shows we are direct decendents of rasulallah saws through fatima as. I am a muslim and I follow the sunna of nabi muhammad saws. I am an educated individual and fluent in arabi, english and a few other languages. I have studied the beliefs of the shia' and I have always come to a brick wall because the foundations are corrupt. As a muslim, we do not worship the dead or graves. The word 'ayatallah' and 'mulaana' are words that should not be ascribed to a person. THere are no saints in islam and no dead can help nor can they intercede for a living person. THere are not 12 "infallible" imams. No person was infallible besides the prophets (as). There is no "hidden" imaam.

It is with no doubt that muhammad saws loved abu bakr and umar ra. Muhammad saws was married to bint umar, hafsa ra. Umar's ra family was married to 'Ali's ra family as well. 'Ali served well under the khilaafa of Abu bakr, Umar, and Uthmaan ra as was the qadr of Allah ta'ala.

I know the shia' do not believe in ahadyth that muslims classify as sa7ee6 (authentic) but do your research. There is an enormous amount of information in ahadyth that points toward a clan of bany quraysh to take the khilafa and not one of the ansari people. This was abu bakr ra who was muhammad's saws best friend. From there he chose Umar ra and he then chose Uthmaan ra. 'Ali ra followed.

The prophet saws told of Uthmaan's ra coming and that tradgedy would befall him. This statement was done what rasulallah saws gave him glad tidings of jannah which was done many times. This specific times was done in Medina.

a'isha ra was the prophet's saws wife and most beloved. If you are against her, you are against the most beloved of the prophet saws and saying his judgement is erred in having her as his wife. Also about abu bakr, umar and uthmaan ra as his advisers!
