Mtext box splits into two?

Why do some text boxes when you reduce the size of them split into two like the one attached? Is there any way to change it so it is just one box again and wont split regardless of what size you drag the corners to?

Solution:

1. Double Click within your Mtext to activate the edit box.

2. Notice the Ribbon and in the "Insert Panel" click on "Columns" option

3. Then select and click "No Columns".
