EDU Supports Postsecondary Students at Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon Professor Kenji Shimada, with the help of Autodesk Education, designed a new graduate course called Introduction to CAD/CAE Tools. Students design the release mechanism for an actual automotive seat, using real-world data, learning conceptual design, detailed design, and engineering analysis. Students benefit from understanding real-world engineering problems and receive hands-on knowledge of Autodesk products, while educators benefit from focusing on teaching engineering instead of how to use the software.
