Hi Yanni Sun, thanks for a really interesting presentation on impoliteness in film reviews.

I wondered if you looked at whether the degree of impoliteness in the reviews correlated with the scores the reviewers gave the films (where these were provided)? Also, did you find examples where some of the indicators of impoliteness you looked at, e.g., the 'taboo' words like the intensifier fu**ing actually functioned as politeness in some circumstances (to emphasise positive evaluation)? 

Your talk gave me some ideas about how Laura Coffey-Glover and I could possibly look at reviews as part of our study of the commercialisation of breastmilk expression (our talk based on a different part of that project is in this panel). It's a really interesting site for exploration so thank you again!
