Doesany one know what the difference between the VAS6154A and VAS6154B? Also I was told the tools can be used as a VCI for Porsche also. I would just need to get a laptop for Porsche or partition a hard drive for Porsche and set up the software. Any one know if that is true?

Vas6154B supports additional future protocols. Piwis virtual tester only supports j2534. There was an old j2534 driver for vas6154 for an older version of odis, not sure if it still works. If you have real piwis, the vas6154a isn't a supports device. However, with alot of effort yes it can work.

VAS will work on Porsche bit not out of the box. Needs some setup and configuring bit it can work and it can be ised for both odis and piwisi never had issues with drivers on any of my vas interfaces.

Rudy is correct about iScan. With their IMS2(vci emulator) feature added to one of their applicable platforms you will have VAS 5054, 6154, PIWIS-II and III ability with your laptops. Diagnostics, coding/programming.
