Version 0.5.7 is out.

Finally I found the NSWindowController bug that drove me crazy since the 10.6 update. The solution was that NSDocument.addWindowController_() changed it's behavior and rejects fully initialized windowcontrollers; it wants to set the document itself and rejects controllers were it's already set...

So all the nice dirty marking and "your document is not saved" dialogs are back.

Some minor bugs:
- Cactus now changes the window title after a save as…
- dirty marking after text edit works

Other changes:
- the window open animation is off. I was too lazy to put it in pref and it was annoying when many windows where opened. 0.5s per window is a lot. Perhaps it should be set temporarily off if more than x windows are opened in row…

Latest binary at my dropbox: http://goo.gl/EALQi

Tried it out on one of my shownotes outlines and it works as adevrtised.
Will the node movement menus be activated at some point in the near future?

They should be because I did it I don't know how many releases back. I'll have a look. My guess is that it's another chapter of the 10.6 update train wreck.

Until it's fixed please use:

TAB/shift-TAB for indenting/outdenting (works on multiple selections)

ctrl-up / ctrl-down for moving (multiple) nodes up and down

Right click "Include" for (also multiple) OPML inclusion.

For that last step you'll need the unannounced 0.5.8 version, which also introduces a preference for the open animation.

While you're at the shownotes do the following:

- check that caching is enabled; perhaps choose another than the default folder

- select the "Clips & Stuff" node

- press "ctrl-right" - all subnodes are selected

- press ctrl-alt-enter - the artwork should open in preview and be cached in the selected folder

- press ctrl-right again

- press ctrl-alt-enter again (the clips and PDFs should load, be cached and open in Preview and Quicktime Player)

The next time these items are opened, Cactus checks with the server for the modification date and loads them only if the server version is more recent. The cached files are saved with the modification date the server returns.

- Pay attention to the opening of files like Steinam props Margr#29A9688.mp3 , which when opened in Safari yield just a "access denied" message... you really need something better for S3 syncing.

Sorry, I confused the Node menu with the Outline menu. The Node menu was never active but is getting it's wires into the code right now.
