Summary:
The Human Predicament: we are currently facing ten massive threats to the human future on a habitable Earth. There is no plan of action for dealing with these threats at global level. There is not even an agreement that humans should try to save ourselves on a liveable Earth. The CHF is proposing an Earth System Treaty as the keystone of a suite of needed initiatives to create a universal legal agreement to act to save ourselves. The Treaty could be signed by every person and nation that supports it. It can be advocated by an Earth Citizens Movement, consisting of all those who believe in saving a habitable Earth for our survival and a future for our grandchildren.
Biography:
Molly Harriss Olson is a recognised pioneer of sustainability trailblazing for over 30 years. Recognised for three decades of leadership, among Molly's achievements, she was honoured with the Yale Alumni of Distinction Award in 2020; spoke at the opening plenary of the World Economic Forum's 2000 meeting in Davos; chaired Swedish King Carl Gustaf's first Business Leadership and the Environment Symposium in 1996, and was named an Australian Financial Review's "100 Women of Influence" in 2014. She was also part of the Who's Who of Australian Women in 2017.
