Responsesto the tweet were mixed with some users saying that he needs to adapt his music to be more in line with current artistic styles while others said that he should stay true to his original style and perhaps go deeper on subject matter now that he is older. One thing that many were in agreement on was the fact that the only way the question can be answered is with the release of new music. Meek released his last studio album, Expensive Pain, in 2021. The album debuted and peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart.
This is prime time for the younger generation of artists to shine. Houston bred rising star Vory has been making a way for himself in recent times and he is slowly but surely climbing to the top. If you have been snoozing on Vory lately, now is the time to get your shit together and really see how he is coming. With summer among us, there could not have been a better time for Vory to present his debut album to the world. He is certainly the type of artist who likes to be lowkey and make his mark with his undeniable talent. Today (June 3) the 24-year-old drops off his highly anticipated first body of work Lost Souls.
Vory tried too hard to make a radio hit and chart-topping album instead of just making the music he is passionate about making. Lost Souls lacks substance and meaning. The album feels like a talentless money grab and a waste of effort by Vory.
Vory's grip on the music industry becomes tighter with every record he delivers. After teasing his upcoming project over the past few months, the Louisville-based artist has finally released his debut album.
On Friday, June 3, Vory dropped his new album Lost Souls. The 17-track project, released via UMG Recordings and Meek Mill's Dream Chasers Records, contains some of the rapper-singer's best work to date including fresh collaborations with Kanye West, Bleu (formerly known as Yung Bleu), NAV, Beam, Fresco Trey and Landstrip Chip. Meek Mill, who signed Vory to his imprint back in 2020, hyped up the album on Twitter shortly after it dropped.
Lost Souls, which was formerly known as Lost Angels, has been in the works for some time. Vory first teased the project on Instagram back in 2021. He posted a photo of the potential tracklist which was written out on a notepad. Shortly afterward, Vory teased another version of the tracklist and included some of the album's features. At that time, he teased a record with Gunna called "World Cry." However, that track did not make it to the final version.
Last month, Vory continued to promote the album when he released his collaboration with BLEU and NAV "Do Not Disturb." Then, earlier this week, he finally released his collaboration with Kanye West called "Daylight." The song was produced by Ye along with 88-Keys, Ojivolta, and E. Vax.
Prior to the album, Vory hopped on other projects like Fivio Foreign's B.I.B.L.E., in which he joined Polo G on "Changed On Me," as well as Doe Boy's OH REALLY album and Ye's Donda.

Following this success, he connected with Meek's former rival, Drake, through producer Boi-1da. He made an appearance on Drizzy's "Mob Ties," but it was his work on Jay-Z and Beyonce's "Friends" that proved to be the most fruitful as it garnered him a Grammy. He also worked heavily on Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding album, earning him another Grammy nomination. Now Vory seems prepared to make a full leap into the forefront.
