Hello New England Golden Bears!  And L'shana tova to those observing Rosh Hashanah! 

We got off to a great start last weekend with nearly 100 CACNE members celebrating a crushing defeat against UC Davis and we have another big game this week!  We hope to see you there!

Here's a quick version of "The More You Know" prior to this week's showdown with Colorado.

• Colorado currently plays football in the Big XII Conference but will soon be a part of the new Pac-12 Conference!  Colorado finished 3-9 against a tough schedule last year but is already 1-0 this year after beating arch-rival Colorado State.
  
• Colorado is the flagship school of the state and is considered a "Public Ivy".  It has a distinguished academic tradition, with six Nobel Laureates, seven MacArthur Fellows, and seventeen astronauts affiliated with the university
  
• Colorado and California may seem like very similar schools, and this has seemingly carried over to the student body as well.
  
• While most people assume that the Buffalo was named Colorado's mascot in honor of the animal's role in western expansion, it turns out the real reason is to recognize the practical use of Coloradoan fecal waste as a cheap and efficient fuel source.
  
• California is 2-2 against Colorado, with the last meeting between the teams in 1982, which the Golden Bears won.  Based on that performance, artists have rendered a preview of this week's outcome.
  

Saturday's game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net West, and will only be available on select cable and satellite coverage plans.  This means your best place to watch the game will be at the Baseball Tavern with your friends at CACNE!
