Hello CACNE Members!
Back to business with a Rooftop Party to celebrate the UCLA/Cal rivalry! Plus, a number of other big updates as well. We have events tonight and over the weekend as well. Before we get going, though, I want to encourage all of you to go to our CACNE Donation Page and pay your $20 annual dues so that you may receive your CACNE Member Mug as soon as possible!

We have a CACNE first this weekend - a viewing party atop the Baseball Tavern's recently renovated roofdeck! Enjoy one of Boston's last sunny fall days with your friends at CACNE, watching the Golden Bears defeat the little sibling school in Westwood. We should have a great turnout, so be there or be square!

2. CACNE Trivia Night Continues Thursday, October 7 @ 8 PM!
Come join CACNE as we compete in the Alumni Group Trivia Competition! Group prizes include gift certificates of up to $100 for the Baseball Tavern.
I am also glad to announce that CACNE is winning the Alumni Challenge after the first week! The winning alumni group after eight weeks will win a free end-of-season wrap up party with food and drinks as well as a banner hanging in the BT as 2010 Alumni Trivia Champions!
Trivia night will be held every Thursday, September 30 - November 18. If we get enough interest, we can have more than one team, so the more, the merrier! If you're interested in coming to one or all of the nights, sign up today on the CACNE facebook page!

3. CACNE Annual Apple Picking Trip, October 24 - Sign Up Today!
On Sunday, October 24, 2010, join your fellow Golden Bears in a great New England tradition -- apple picking! Additionally, we will be attending the Bluegrass and Brews Festival at the Nashoba Valley Winery & Orchard. This is a great chance to experience the Fall in New England by spending some time picking apples, tasting cider and wine, participating in pie eating contests, and enjoying some great food with friends! Sign up today to help us arrange carpool rides for everyone.

Any candidate for the new CACNE Executive Board must submit their name by 11:59 PM on Friday, October 15. You can sign up today at http://tinyurl.com/cacneelection10. There are no pre-requisites for running: anyone can volunteer!

Please join us at the 2010 CACNE Blue & Gold Banquet! Come enjoy a cocktail hour with a live jazz band, enjoy a nice dinner, and hear from this year's keynote speaker: University of Maine President Robert Kennedy! This is our most elegant evening of the year, and we hope you all will join us for this fantastic event.
What: CACNE annual Blue & Gold Reception, honoring the Cal New England Alums of the Year and featuring UMaine President Robert Kennedy (Ph.D. 1974)

Time: 5-9pm, with program from 6:30-8pm
Where: Scullers Jazz Club at the Doubletree Guest Suites - Boston

6. CACNE Member Dues - Due Today!
Please take a moment today and donate $20 to CACNE as part of your voluntary membership dues.
CACNE is an organization that is dependent entirely on member donations. Your annual $20 CACNE dues go towards the administrative costs of the group, including capital for football viewing parties, receptions for new students, events with prominent local alumni, and fundraisers for the CACNE Scholarship Fund.
Perks of membership include:
- Priority for limited participation events
- A free CACNE 2010 Member Stein
- A $3 donation to The Cal Fund
