Does each cluster has multiple instances of Cache?

Hi, thank you for sharing the trace data.

In your paper, you mentioned that "Size of production cache clusters ranges from 20 to thousands of instances". However, from the sample trace, it doesn't seem to have a field about which instance a query directs at.

So when using this trace data for analysis, are we supposed to treat each cluster as a single instance? Or did I miss something, and there is a way to tell which instances are on a cluster? Thank you!

Each trace stores the requests from one instance, each cluster may have different number of instances. The number of instances is not fixed and change over time, and we do not have this information.
