Dear ASAP and ASAP Alum,

It is was a full and heavy heart that I am sharing that Thursday, December 8th will be my last day at The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF). At this time, I have chosen to be with my family with the recent addition of my second child. This was not an easy decision, but one that needed to be made.

During my time at CACF, I had the amazing honor to work with amazing young people who I witnessed come together to become a unified voice for the Asian American community, while having a great time growing with one another.  Believe it or not, I learn more from all of you in those sessions.

This message is a deep and humble thank you to every ASAP member.  I truly mean it.  I admire all of your strengths and weaknesses, as we are all working to make this world a better place.  Your energy, drive, passion, humor and love not just empowered me but all of us in ASAP.  Remember the beautiful community that you all created and the change that can occur.  You all have the power to do that, and I know this because you have proved it to me time and time again. From my 7 years here working with all of you, the term "Proud" is an underestimation of how I feel.

Please know that this is not goodbye. Although I am stepping away form my role at CACF, I will still be here in NYC, raising my family and being in the upcoming battles that still need to be fought. I will still be teaching in the Asian American Studies department at Hunter College. My contact there is mitch...@hunter.cuny.edu and my personal email is wum...@gmail.com

Please understand that you can still reach out to me if you need to.

I will come in to the ASAP meeting tomorrow for one last time to say goodbye to the current class. In addition, CACF will be organizing a send-off event on Tuesday, December 20th. Alum will be notified about this event shortly.  I hope to see you there.  If you have any questions about the event, feel free to contact Andrea Wu at a...@cacf.org.

I am sure we will have time to catch up in the near future, but in this message I will leave you all with this, please know that: I unequivocally believe in all of your potential.

Always,

Mitch
