I am forwarding this opportunity to learn more about SB 54 via this public information session to be held by CalRecycle on April 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (PT). Links in the email below.

"This information session will focus on the SB 54 Statewide Needs Assessment and methodology and findings related to source reduction goals including reuse and refill. CalRecycle staff will present on the following reports: Current State of Source Reduction, An Analysis of Actions and Investments Needed to Achieve Source Reduction and selected portions of the Consumer Education and Access report as it relates to reuse and refill. The purpose of the information session is to discuss the recent Needs Assessment publications to support implementation of the Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act SB 54".

2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding a public information session (see public notice) on April 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (PT).

This information session will focus on the SB 54 Statewide Needs Assessment and methodology and findings related to source reduction goals including reuse and refill. CalRecycle staff will present on the following reports: Current State of Source Reduction, An Analysis of Actions and Investments Needed to Achieve Source Reduction and selected portions of the Consumer Education and Access report as it relates to reuse and refill. The purpose of the information session is to discuss the recent Needs Assessment publications to support implementation of the Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act [Senate Bill (SB) 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022)].

More information will be forthcoming through the listserv and will be available on the SB 54 Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act webpage prior to the meeting.
