Hello Plastics Team,

Just wanted to forward this bill in case it was one that the Plastics team had a position on?

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for sending this Amanda. I have looked it over and, unless anyone from the Plastics Team objects, I would like to take a supportive stance on the Bill. This Bill, much like SB 54 which we have also supported, amends the Public Resource Code (PRC) to ensure that monies collected from the California Plastic Pollution Mitigation Fund in appropriate ways (likely closing a loophole in the PRC).

Unless anyone objects, please add that we support this bill in the Bill Tracker. Thank you!

I am interested in working on this bill and 730. I have not been to a committee meeting in a while ( I had a brain incident and then surgery so was out for a while). I would appreciate a partner on both bills. Please advise on when the next plastics committee meeting is and the intention of the committee. Pam

Hello,

Thank you Amanda for explaining all of that. And thank you Pam for your interest! I suppose I would be the team member listed since I am the one interested in working on them, as well. I will wait until 762 has been referred to a Committee. For 1180, I would be interested in drafting a letter.

Pam, the next Plastics Team meeting is on March 18 at 6pm if you are interested in attending. We will be discussing several bills coming on the docket for this legislative session. I hope you are feeling better!

Thanks all,

Amanda Martin

Hi Brittany,

I wanted to update my previous statement since I received clarification. You actually can write a letter and submit it to the Author in the portal before the bill has been assigned to a committee. Your support/opposition letter will then be carried through any subsequent committees - yay!! Still learning new things myself! :)

Warm regards,
