I would think you should be able to do a whole bunch of things here. Some
thoughts on how I would go about it:
1) Write a small shell script for your executable. Cabrio should be able
to call this... you may have to create a fake XML for Music/Jukebox with
one game and tie it to the script.
2) Look at media players for three things:
a) Command-line interface to control some aspects of how its launched
(most probably can be fed a file as an argument to autoplay, for
example). Running "man clementine" or "man amarok" in a terminal would
get you this.
b) Control mapping. I doubt many would take joystick input, but I bet
many have shortcut keys. Either (temporarily) map your sticks and
buttons to the appropriate key combos, or vice versa. On windows there
is a Joy2Key program. Not sure on Linux. Make sure you can close it and
give cabrio focus ;-).
c) Fullscreen. More for a seamless "It's not a PC" experience. I try not
to break the illusion and go for the keyboard and mouse if I don't have
to.
