Hi Folks-

I think it would be a good thing to sponsor.  Do others want to weigh in?  I will not be going because I'm teaching that day.

I would like to hop on board, but im not sure if theres any open spots left. I know a couple folks were planning on going. Regardless, we'll have representation there. Thanks Martha!

Is anyone going to the Regents meeting on the 23rd-25th? I know some people from UCSC are going someone mentioned it at their meeting. And are we going to keep meeting on Thursday at 2:30?

I'm going to go, but I'm planning to be on the Cabrillo Demicrats bus.
I'll stop by the EPOS office to see what's going on and maybe fill
some more seats.

I think we should definitely be sponsors for March 22. In terms of the sign up list for the busses, several people have asked about it, and I was curious where it is located? I unfortunately cant make the 22nd because I have jury duty :( But I will continue to promote the event in my classes.

As far as meetings on thursdays go, I think we need to keep them going.
Maybe we should develop a new format... reading groups, maybe designate days (or certain times on thursdays) we do flyer writing or something?

There are several things (we briefly discussed thursday) people may want to attend regarding education:

The regents meeting at UCSF
Discussing finance, etc.

April 8-11th Pacific Sociology Association Annual Meeting- Oakland City Center
They have discussions ranging all over the board that should be interesting,
14) Social Movements, Protest & Social Change I & II,
as well as some others about education sound like they should be interesting and applicable.

May 1st Social Justice Conference (there's a pdf if you google the title)
Its dedicated to Cabrillo Students fighting for social justice... We could probably have a table
there if people are willing to do it and the spaces are not already filled....? Just a thought...

Being on a jury is a great oppertunity. Individual jurors has a great
deal of power. Remember, despite any instructions that are given to
you by judges or who ever, you as a juror are free to interpret the
correctness of ANY law or satute presented in a case, and base your
decision on your beliefs. Good luck. Stay strong.
