I'm a student and find that PSpice 9.2 does not run well on XP/Server2003/Vista. Simulations do not keep their settings between runs, due to a "MarkerServer" error. I realize that PSpice 9.2 is no longer supported, but product is nearly useless on current OS's.

PSpice is a critical application for students. The real Cadence 16.2 is way too expensive for a student & the Demo version is too crippled. There's always NI's MultiSim, but my university uses PSpice. What is the solution to this dilemma? Install Win98 on some old PC?

As far as I am aware the 64-node limit has always applied to all "free", Demo or Student, versions of the PSpice simulator. Obviously, thye full version has no such limits. Cadence provides tools to Educational establishments specifically to support courses that use PSpice in their material.

I need help with the Pspice 9.1 installation guide for Windows 10 - where can I download it? I've got only 2 pdf tutorials which I downloaed from All About Circuits forum. Is there a version for academic use? For teachers/professors perhaps? I'm planning my next course for the SmartLab classroom of Lucerne Valley Elementary School. My email: adrian (dot) altenburger (at) lucernevalleyusd (dot) org

If you are interested in OrCAD products, you need to contact the Cadence Channel Partner for the USA (EMA Design Automation www.ema-eda.com) and ask about the academic support programs. There are a variety of options to support tutors and students with up to date, and supported, products. (OrCAD 9.1 was around from September 1999 to September 2000 so I doubt that Windows 10 would be a suitable environment and, obviously, no longer supported) Since it's Thanksgiving this weekend, you may not get a response / be able to contact them before next week.

PSpice technology has been supporting the student community for years, helping them achieve academic and career success. To help students with the learning process, we offer a free version of PSpice via the OrCAD Academic Program. The academic version is a complete suite that includes the Capture and PSpice tools to assist students in lab and with their coursework.

With our electronic circuit simulator, we bring educators the best of circuit simulation software and technologies to assist them in their teaching as well as in on-campus research. Learn more about the special educational pricing offers for institutions and schools on PSpice technologies.

Work with circuit design projects by designing analog and digital models, then simulating their work to check and adjust functionality. The utility features multiple templates for different circuit types along with a set of tools for customizing layouts.

Downloading PSpice Student 9.1.0.1 from our website was free. The program's installer is commonly called pspice.exe, Capture Student.exe, Student.exe, stmed.exe or PSpice Optimizer Student.exe etc. ".dat" is the extension this free PC software can operate with.

PSpice Student is sometimes distributed under different names, such as "PSpice Student Thinstalled". The following version: 9.1 was the most frequently downloaded one by the program users. This download was checked by our antivirus and was rated as virus free. The software is included in Education Tools. This PC software works fine with 32-bit versions of Windows XP/XP Professional/Vista/7/8/10/11. The actual developer of the free software is Cadence Design Systems, Inc.

Bump, anyone with solutions yet? Does not work with any recent wine versions, also tested with 1.0.1 and 1.1.1 per the supposed 'gold' entries in WineHQ: =version&iId=1026. Cannot launch .exe manually or do anything. Built-in script also closes without showing anything. IIRC with the newer wine versions everything works except for simulation making it useless.

Schematics runs well, BUT simulation does not work at all. When launching simulation from Schematics, it says "unable to find pspicead.exe" even if pspice.exe starts. (Note that pspicead.exe does NOT exist even in a correct windows installation.)

Looking for solutions on the web, it is said to set Wine for Windows98 and override ole32.dll, oleaut32.dll and rpcrt4.dll to native (others says built-in). You also have to install DCOM98, but the script on PlayOnLinux does not work and even Winetricks does not support it anymore, because it seems to be already implemented in recent versions of Wine. But I cannot try with older versions of Wine, because I cannot get DCOM98 anymore.

If departments are considering acquiring software, they are required to consult the Compliance Contract Review Portal to gain insights into the necessary requirements for all contracts associated with the procurement of software or IT products.

Check out our software catalog to explore different software packages offered by OIT. Please note that each software agreement contains its own terms and conditions. Many software packages are available for use on both personal and University-owned computers; however, only University computers should be used for University business. Generally, use of campus-wide software is limited to University business, academic, or research related purposes.

Students may purchase academic versions of many products through the University Supply Store or at the manufacturer's website, and students may also check with their academic department to see if they have additional software available.

Please check with your academic or administrative department to determine if there is additional software available to you. Any software not listed in the Software Catalog or not available to you otherwise must be purchased in accordance with UA Purchasing Guidelines. Software providers often times require a licensing agreement to use the associated software. All agreements should be submitted to Contract Management for appropriate review and authorized signature per Contract Guidelines and Contract Submittal. If you are pursuing a new software as a service implementation, please submit a Project Request Form early in the process to seek project management and implementation assistance.

Departments interested in new campus-wide or larger volume licensing agreements should contact the IT Service Desk to express interest. OIT will work with campus units to evaluate and pursue these agreements.

These release notes apply specifically to the PSpice Student Version Release 9.1. For detailed information about using a particular product, please refer to the online Help and documentation for that product.

The Student Version of PSpice is intended for use by college students and professors who are interested in learning about analog and mixed-signal simulation. It is not intended to demonstrate the capabilities of any product other than PSpice. Because it is distributed freely, certain limitations have been imposed on the libraries and functionality. If you are interested in obtaining a fully functional version of PSpice, contact Orcad Sales at 1-800-671-9505. (International customers may call 1-503-671-9500.) To obtain the very latest information about workarounds or solutions to problems that you may encounter, visit the Orcad Design Network on the Orcad Web site at www.pcb.cadence.com/odn.Documentation for the PSpice Student Version Release 9.1 is available for download (in .PDF format) at: _file/Pspice/Docs/9_1_SP1/.
