Hi everyone,
I want to install an hydraulic autopilot on my Cabo Rico 34, either a Raymarine or B&G.

I was curious as to how you have managed to secure the hydraulic arm?

Any suggestions or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Best Regards,

Luc

I had a platform glasses in to support it 2 rams one for inside stearing with a pump style autopilot then another that runs from a hydronic contained unit.

I did the same.Glassed in a block on the side of the hull.  It is very important to get a secure bond onto the inside of the hull. The block takes a lot of stress when in use.

This was some years ago. I put in a Nexis Hyd Ram auto on my 38.  There are newer systems out there.

Hi Larry,

Did you screw the block to the hull then glassed it in? I am contemplating doing it myself.

Thank you for your help!
Luc

My first attempt did not work do to poor surface prep.
I did use 2 screws to hold it place until the glass cured.
Been many years ago now. Not an easy place to work.  Getting the correct mounting spot and rudder attachment took some doing.  Good luck!

Good morning everyone
Sorry to hijack this thread with a change of subject but I just wanted to let the group know that our cr38 is for sale.
It’s a 1992 located in Baltimore,md
We have lovingly maintained the boat since 2003 and she is sailed regularly. Lots of upgrades and new equipment. There’s a yachtworld add up online through a broker but if anyone is interested or knows of anyone interested feel free to contact me directly. Thanks very much!
