Long shot question... Does anyone here know a paint that for sure will stick to 3M 4200?

Hint: It's not BilgeKote, which I found out the hard way. :)

Taken' from Wooden B

Default 3m 4200 sealant and oil paints

I recently had a problem with Bightside paint not curing over 3M4200 caulking. After a few calls to 3M I talked with a lab tech, who informed me that there is a problem with oil paints curing over this caulking. The solution he gave me is to paint over the caulking first with a shellac based stain blocker type primer. Then paint over that with the oil paint. (Brightside is basically an oil paint, even though it's called a one part polyurethane.) I used Zinzer Bins primer. There are also oil and water based versions of this, so make sure you use the shellac based one. 3M is shipping new product with a warning label. The tubes I bought just said it was paintable.

Hope this helps
