Surveyor in the Area (boat is in the West River, S of Annapolis)

Hello, My insurance (Geico/Boat US) requires a survey every 5 years and it is time.  Can anyone recommend a good surveyor in my area?  My policy renews in April.

Often it is the insurance company who picks the surveyor. I have been insured by Geico for as long as they own BoatUS and they never asked for a survey. Otherwise I like Tarn Kelsey.

I’ve had several insurance surveys. My insurance, and I believe also Geico, accepts any certified surveyor. One surveyor did tell me that insurance do not accept his surveys (I think because he was also a broker) so be sure to ask. 

The question is do you want a “good” surveyor or one that will suffice for insurance? Also, insurance surveys are in my experience less detailed than pre-purchase surveys.

I used Curtis on a recent pre-purchase survey and thought he did a great job. If anyone comes across a decent insurance carrier for basic liability, please let me know.
