This first happened when I was bringing the boat up from Oriental - no steering righ in the middle of a very choppy Albemarle sound. (luckily the pilothouse has hydraulic steering in the Pilothouse.) That was 2017, had it replaced in Hamptons.
Just found this re-failure (steering still functions but…) a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the overall radius is beyond the strength of the grease fitting. I think I could rig a support line to this plastic fitting that would force the strain out to the tubes themselves. BUT
$$ to get the thing replaced - I’m thinking this is beyond my abilities.
1. Any recommendations in the West River - Annapolis area?
2. Any random comments? :-)
