Hi,

Has anyone experienced leaks of the rudder stuffing box as seen in picture. Could anyone share what needs to be done to fix this and the parts needed (size of “o” ring or bushing?)?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi all

FWIW i have had goodl uck with two of these wrenches for stuffing boxes if you can't find the "correct" ones from Tom
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-9-1-2-in-Offset-Hex-Jaw-Pipe-Wrench-Sturdy-Plumbing-Pipe-Tool-with-Hex-Jaw-Mechanism-for-Extra-Wide-Opening-31305/100151329

Tom, do you also happen to know the packing size for the prop shaft off-hand?

Hi Tom,
I forgot to mention it is for a Cabo Rico 34. Were your specifications for a CR34?

Also, this is a dumb question, but it needs to be done on the hard, right?

Again, thank you very much for your time and the pictures.

I can assure you, having repacked that bearing in what was then our CR38 while it was in the water, that the boat does not need to be on the hard.

A bit nerve wracking the first time you do it.

We also repacked the drive shift stuffing box with our boat in the water.
