We’d like to pass on information on a funding opportunity that may be relevant to some of you. Please see the below information from the Safe Routes Partnership. If you have any specific questions, the appropriate contact is Kori Johnson at ko...@saferoutespartnership.org.

 

The Safe Routes Partnership has opened applications for the 2026 Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day mini‑grants. Funding supports local events that promote student empowerment, kindness, anti‑racism, and community building.

Grant amounts:
• $500 for schools with under 400 students
• $1,000 for schools with over 400 students

Eligible applicants: Schools, districts, cities, counties, nonprofits, Safe Routes programs, community groups, libraries, PTOs/PTAs, and more.

Priority will go to: First‑time celebrations, communities that haven’t received a 2025 mini-grant, and middle/high school events.

Deadline: September 4, 2026 (11:59 PM Pacific).
