How everyday riders help keep trails and public lands open

Hey jim,

Every trail you've ever ridden exists because someone fought for it. Somebody showed up to a community meeting nobody else wanted to sit through. Somebody called their representatives at exactly the right moment. That unglamorous, unsexy legwork is the reason your favorite route is still there to ride, and if we're being honest, most of us don't know how any of it works.

We figured it was time to pull back the curtain on how advocacy happens.

This Wednesday, two activists who know this world inside and out will show our members the ropes — and we're happy to share that advocacy work is a lot more approachable than it sounds! Adventure Cycling's Routes and Advocacy Coordinator, Ellie Zachary, is joining Taylor Rogers from Outdoor Alliance for Advocacy 101: How Outdoor Communities Advocates for Public Lands and Trails

Advocacy 101: How Outdoor Communities Advocates for Public Lands and Trails

with Ellie Zachary & Taylor Rogers

📅 Wednesday, July 13 | 5:00 PM Mountain Time

🔥 Free for members | Seats are limited

You don't need to be an advocate already. If you've ever wondered how a route closure gets reversed or where to speak up for a trail you love, come hang out. You'll leave with a clearer sense of where you fit in, and maybe a little more fired up too.

Like all of our Campfire Chats, this one will be small, live, and just for members. We keep the group tight so the conversation stays real, nothing gets recorded, and if you hit it off with someone, you can trade contact info after the call.

Grab your favorite mug and bring your curiosity. We'll save you a seat by the fire.

Can't make it this month? August, September, October and November sessions are also open for RSVPs now. Grab your seat before they fill up.

Check out all upcoming Campire Chats

See you around the campfire,
