Lets ask Caltrans to establish a modified R81 (CA) to used:
and a R44A…or

Can even modify the R7 & R7-9a:

Infrastructure Review Committee
      OCBike.org

Area Liaison to Caltrans District 12
      CABOBike.org

Bill,

These look great, although spokeless wheels always seem a bit spooky
(not spokey) to me!

How do we get these proposed signs in front of Caltrans?

Scott,

In 2018, Caltrans created a new California Walk and Bike Technical Advisory Committee (CWBTAC) made up of external partners to provide regular strategic input and technical guidance on Caltrans’ complete streets and active transportation efforts. The new committee replaces the California Bicycle Advisory Committee, which was established in 1992 and provided input to Caltrans on bicycle facilities for several decades.

Or you could do like what was done with the buffered bike lane proposal shortly before CBAC was disbanded and send it
to the membership of the bicycle committee and then on to the California Traffic Control Devices Committee with a memo saying that the bicycle committee was consulted (even though the CTCDC meeting happened before the next CBAC meeting) and hope no one calls your bluff. It worked then, maybe it will work again with this new bicycle committee.
