From SVBC Slack:
[Action alert] Help save SJC Ewert Road for cyclist detours around GRT
flooding. tl;dr: Please fill out this quick form and help advocate for
keeping Ewert Road and its access points open for cyclists.
This announcement was recently posted at Ewert Road (SJC perimeter road)
where it meets the intersection of De La Cruz, Trimble, and Central
Expressway in City of Santa Clara: PED/CYCLE ACCESS TO CLOSE PERMANENTLY
ON 5/1/2026. Use Airport Pkwy and Airport Blvd to access Airport
If you've ever had to detour around flooding on the Guadalupe River
Trail, and especially if you've made use of this particular detour
route, I urge you to help provide SJC and the City of San José with your
feedback on the necessity of this access point. Ewert Road is the only
safe, all-weather, short-distance (0.9 mile) detour route for cyclists
to cross Highway 101 when the Guadalupe River Trail underpass at Highway
101 is flooded or otherwise impassable. The San José BPAC has formally
recommended that Ewert Road remain open to cyclists in perpetuity.
Please fill out the form to tell us:
If you'd like to sign onto group letters that we send to City Council,
department directors, etc.
If you can take any individual actions to advocate for preventing this
closure: sending personal emails, making phone calls, and/or going to
City Council to give public comment.

is true this time, please provide a non-personalized URL. Thanks)
