Hosted by Sen. Catherine Blakespear. Speakers from the Mineta Institute,
PeopleForBikes, Calbike, and Streets for All.

April 1 at 1:30 pm at Swing Space Room 6010

I believe the in-person event is at the Capitol Annex in Sacramento.

There is also a virtual option. See attached PDF flyer.

Scott and all,

This is what pisses me off; but I should know better.

Why did Senator Blakespear, who I believe we've had correspondence with before, exclude CABO -- a CA statewide bicycle advocacy organization since 1972 -- from being part of this event???

CRAZY and SAD!!!

The organizations involved -- People for Bikes, Streets Are For Everyone, Streets For All, and CalBike have been working with Sen Blakespear for the last two years on the legislation being discussed, SB 1167, which is targeted at addressing illegal e-motos and preserving the rights of legal e-bikes.

CABO could reach out to Sen Blakespear and ask to be a sponsor -- either hire a lobbyist or have a dedicated state policy person to help get this bill through. We need all the help we can get. Like I said, this is the second year working on this bill. DMV killed a similar one last year, and we have an uphill battle to get DMV not to kill it again this year.

Best, Damian
