CALL TO ACTION

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition needs our help. They are at a key turning point to make their organization more efficient at advocating for safer roadways for nonmotorized users. Scroll down for more

Vote YES via Zoom on Wednesday 7/27 @ 6:30pm

Background:

Please help our friends at the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC), by voting YES on bylaw changes! This is an effort that is supported by their board and staff, but needs help getting approved.

Currently, SDCBC bylaws allow non-elected board members who don't have term limits. As a result, they don't have to answer to the coalition's interest of advocating for safe bike facilities for all types of riders. At times, these board members actively work against the Coalition's goals and cannot be held accountable. The new bylaws will require ALL board members to be elected and have term limits to allow new, more diverse voices in Coalition leadership.

Updating the Coalition's bylaws will ensure that board members are democratically elected, more representative of ALL people who ride bikes, and help keep SDCBC an ally for safer streets and Vision Zero.

What to do?

1. Become a SDCBC Member (it's FREE) right now!

2. Register for the Board meeting no later than Monday 7/25

3. Attend and vote YES at the beginning of the Board meeting on Wednesday 7/27 @ 6:30pm. This will take less than 30 minutes of your time.

4. SHARE AND INVITE YOUR FRIENDS & COLLEAGUES!

Thank you!
