The first set of proposed changes to the UVC have been
posted for comment on the NCUTCD site at:

http://www.ncutcd.org/rulesroad042013.shtml

Comments are due to ncu...@aol.com by May 31, 2013.

Note that this UVC comment process (unlike the standard
NCUTCD comment process) is open to the public, so feel
free to forward this information and invitation as you see fit.

Ken: thanks for sending this.

As you're likely aware, NCUTCD has taken over the
responsibility of updating Chapters 1 & 11 of the UVC.

As part of this, the NCUTCD Bicycle Technical Committee
has been reviewing the bicycle-focused provisions of
Chapters 1 and 11, and has drafted proposed changes
that will be posted for review soon. Note that the review
process for UVC changes will be different than that for
standard NCUTCD proposals, in that the public will be
invited to comment on the drafts, which includes any
members of any legal committees that LAB may have.
Once it's released for comments, we'll let you know.

However, one section of Chapter 11 will not be in the first
set of proposed changes, and that's 11-1205 - the "as far
right as practicable" section. This is because the BTC has
not yet made a final decision as to the scope of recommended
changes to this section, and there is a possibility that 11-1205
may be revised to simply refer to 11-301 regarding driving
on the right.
